Harini & Sean

HER

Harini Kumar — aka Sonu to anyone who’s earned her trust or her bombastic side-eye — is a whirlwind of energy, laughter, and unapologetic determination. Strong-willed and fiercely ambitious, she’s the kind of person who will build a color-coded spreadsheet for a party and still somehow convince someone else (Sean) to show up in a dinosaur costume for the kids.

Born in India, raised across continents—Thailand, Fiji, Texas—and now calling Boston home, Sonu brings a global soul to everything she does. She started out engineering microwaves as an RF engineer and now launches ideas as a marketing manager. Whether she’s cooking something incredible, making art, or cracking jokes (she’ll tell you 3 out of every 10 land, but she’s proud of that batting average), Sonu knows how to light up a room.

She’s the glue in any group, the first person you’d call in a crisis, and possibly the only person you’ll ever meet who could genuinely be lured into a van with Pani Puri.

Just don’t text her “K”—you’ve been warned.

HIM

Sean Kyle Aguiar is the kind of person who may not remember your birthday, but will drive 80 minutes to get your favorite frozen meal from Trader Joe’s, sneak it into your freezer, and never say a word. He’s all heart and all motion—a walking contradiction in the best possible way: part gym rat, part sweet tooth, part energizer bunny, part home base.

He drinks four coffees a day, runs laundry when the basket’s still half-empty, and somehow still finds time to meal prep whole foods and vacuum your rug mid-conversation (thanks, ADHD). He’s the kind of partner who shows love not through big speeches, but in small, consistent acts: making tea and dosa (or trying to), walking his grandparents to their car, or spending hours on the floor playing with his nephews.

Sean doesn’t just show up—he goes all in. He’ll spend a full day helping others at work, then stay late to finish his own projects. He’s curious and attentive, a clean freak who’ll wipe down the counters before you even realize they’re dusty, and a doer through and through. He’s not into brands or labels—he wouldn’t spend a dollar on jewelry (except for the ring). But he’d give you the shirt off his back and be the last to leave when someone needs help.

Funny, charming, and always smiling, Sean is equally at home making a room laugh or diving into a deep, thoughtful conversation. He loves games (especially Magic: The Gathering, to Sonu’s eternal eye roll), horror movies (with all the lights on), and long walks where he’s 100% present the whole time. Golden retriever energy, bleeding heart, and the kind of person grandparents quietly wish was their actual grandson—Sean makes everything around him just a little brighter.

THEM

It all started with work—she "hired" him (well, interviewed him). Or, as Sean says, “she was called in for a vibe check”. They crossed paths in the professional world, but like all good love stories, life had other plans. Sean moved back to Rhode Island, and six years later, their paths crossed again. Somewhere between hiking through every state park halfway between them and endless weekends of “just hanging out,” something clicked. He toured open houses with her, listening patiently as she ranted about lawyers, real estate agents and sales people, completely unaware that they were already meeting every weekend.

Their first unofficial date was dinner at the best Indian restaurant in RI, followed by a Harry Potter movie marathon—though, spoiler alert: they still haven’t finished the 8th movie. Who can sit through all that? (Harini says the books are better anyway.)

Their first official date? Chinese takeout and more Harry Potter. The fact that they both loved pizza sealed the deal, even though they’d bicker endlessly about everything else.

They are opposites in many ways. Harini is a bundle of energy, global in spirit, always planning 25 things at once, and never shy about making sure everyone is entertained. Sean is calm, small-town soul, and completely fine with being alone in his own peaceful headspace. But their differences just work—they balance each other out. They’re both explorers at heart, whether they’re hiking up a trail or navigating the aisles of Costco, which has become an almost unhealthy obsession (don’t even ask how many protein bars they've bought in bulk).

There was a moment when Sean realized this was it. They were at a state park, she was leaning over a railing and looking up to him while pointing out turtles. It was one of those small moments that felt right. For Harini, it happened in a Panera parking lot, when Sean couldn’t stop talking about absolutely nothing and yet, somehow, it was everything.

They’ve since found that perfect balance—just like a good pizza. Maybe a little cheesy, but they can’t imagine life without it. And don’t even get started on their music tastes. Sean calls hers “too boring,” while she calls his music “too chaotic.” But it’s all part of their charm—and they wouldn’t have it any other way.
